Today I’ll advice you where to eat in Florence. Last month I went in Florence where, I ate in four different places so I’ll tell you what I ate and how much I paid. So if you want to know where to eat the best fiorentina, continue reading!
- First of all: All’antico vinaio
The first day we ate at the antico vinaio, I’ve already eaten here, but only take away schiacciata, that day we decided to sit and give a try to the other things. The space is very cosy and treated and the waiters are very nice. So this is beautiful.. but what did we eat? We took a cheese and meat course and they brought us also some schiacciata, which is a typical bread of Tuscany. Everything was very good, especially the cheese with honey. There were like three kinds of meat and cheese. If you are vegetarian you can choose a cheese curse that they accompany with some vegetables.
- And still… All’antico vinaio (take away)
All’antico vinaio is well-known for the schiacciata, you can buy it in one of their shops in Neri street. I love so much this kind of meal because gives you the opportunity to eat it while going around the city. At least it’s very cheap, it costs around €5 and is very big, i have never finished one entirely. In general they are made by meat, vegetables and cheese, but if you are vegeterian you can make it only with cheese and vegetables, and if you are vegan you can eat it only with vegetables.
3.Then we have: Taverna da Benvenuto
It’s close to ‘l’antico vinaio’, it was my first time here and it was a pleasant surprise. The place is cosy and the waiters are very friendly and nice. Because we went on women’s day, they gave us some mimosas, so sweet! The prices weren’t very high, even because the plates were abundant. We ate: ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, pappardelle with boar and of course the fiorentina. Everything was very delicious.
4. You must try this: Da Mario
This is a very particular restaurant because you’ll sit with other people that you don’t know. Here you can only have lunch because they are opened from 12 to 15, you can’t book, so you have to go there and book at the moment and wait. It was a strange experience, but I’ll definitely do it another time, here a met an Indian guy that was going to Germany for a business meeting, so it’s a funny way to make new friends! The service is pretty fast and good. We ate ravioli with ricotta and zucchine, ribollita, fiorentina and vin santo e cantuccini (typical biscuits of Tuscany).
5. Finally we have my favourite, Al latini!
This wasn’t my first time here, we went there several times and it was very beautiful to come back and see how the restaurant changed. You should book, if you don’t do it you would wait a lot. The restaurant is very characteristic, the waiters and the owners are very nice. We took the mix of soups and fiorentina, the have their own oil and wine, the oil is very good, you should definitely try it with some bread. As dessert we took tiramisù, but they offered us also vin santo e cantuccini. The plates were really abundant, the mix of soups for two and we ate it in three.. so here you can understand how abundant they are.
